CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are advised that AFGRI and Astral Foods Limited ("Astral"), 50%
joint venture partners in Earlybird Farms (Pty) Limited ("Earlybird"), have
entered into negotiations to acquire this company"s 50% equity interest in
Earlybird ("the proposed transaction"). The proposed transaction may have a
material effect on the price of the AFGRI shares and shareholders are advised to
exercise caution when dealing in the company"s shares, until a full announcement
is made.
