Further cautionary announcement
Further to the cautionary announcement issued on 21 January 2004, the Company
has been informed that Impala Platinum Holdings Limited through its wholly owned
subsidiary, Barplats Holdings (Proprietary) Limited, has signed an agreement to
sell its entire shareholding of 185 226 913 ordinary shares constituting 83.2%
of the issued ordinary shares of the Company to a consortium of investors led by
Salene Platinum Consortium at a cash price of R2.10 per share.
The sale agreement is subject to a number of conditions precedent including the
raising of the necessary financing by the consortium to complete the
transaction. These conditions must be met by 31 March 2004 and until that date
the consortium will enjoy a period of exclusivity.
There can be no assurance that the conditions to the sale agreement will be
fulfilled. Accordingly, ahareholders are advised to continue to exercise caution
in dealing with the Company"s securities until a further announcement is made.
