APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mvelaphanda Resources Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Bernard
van Rooyen as an executive director of the Company with immediate effect. Mr
van Rooyen has been a non-executive director of the company since its listing in
February 2002.
Mr van Rooyen is currently the deputy chairman of Trans Hex Group Limited, and
is a director of, inter alia, Gold Fields Limited, Northam Platinum, Rand Water
and Banro Corporation.
Mvela CEO Nthobi Angel said today, "I am delighted that Bernard has accepted
this appointment. He has much to contribute to our new executive team at
Mvela."
Chairman Tokyo Sewale added "Over the years Bernard has played an important role
in Mvela"s development and growth. With this appointment we have even closer
access to Bernard"s enormous wealth of experience in the mining and resources
sector in South Africa and beyond as we emerge into a major and serious player
in the sector."
In addition, Mvela advises of the resignation of Mr WJDI Scott from the board of
the company.
