In compliance with rule 3.67 of the JSE Listing Requirements, the following
information should be noted:
The Board of Directors of Palabora Mining Company Limited is pleased to announce
the appointment of Steven Din (38) as the Company"s Chief Financial Officer and
an executive director, with effect from 22 April 2004. Mr Din is an associate
member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and holds a
first degree in Chemical Engineering. Mr Din joined the Rio Tinto Group in 2004
and has held a series of senior financial positions with Schlumberger Oilfield
Services, the Alumina Company of Guinea Limited and the Lex Service Group.
