TRADING UPDATE AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are advised that Moneyweb"s headline earnings for the year ended 31
March 2004 will be substantially higher ("substantially" being an increase of
equal to or greater than 30% as defined in the revised JSE Securities Exchange
South Africa ("JSE") Listings Requirements ("JSE Listings Requirements")) than
that of the prior comparative period. The loss, which arises after goodwill
amortisation and taxation, will be significantly lower ("significantly" being a
decrease of less than 10% as defined in the JSE Listings Requirements) than that
of the prior comparative period.
The improvement in earnings is mainly attributable to increased revenues
generated through the two new platforms of e.TV and The Citizen as well as a
general improvement in conditions in the media sector.
The headline earnings and loss after goodwill amortisation for the year ended 31
March 2004 have not been reviewed and reported on by Moneyweb"s auditors, and
shareholders are accordingly advised to exercise caution when dealing in the
Company"s securities on the JSE until the audited results are announced, which
is expected to be on or about 30 June 2004.
