In accordance with the requirements of paragraph 3.67 of the Listings

Allied Technologies Limited ("Altech") announces, with effect from 1 May 2004,
the appointment of Ms. Ramani Naidoo, executive director of Edward Nathan &
Friedland Corporate Governance Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd, as a independent non
executive director of Altech.
