CHANGE IN SECTOR CLASSIFICATION
Further to the announcement on 14 May 2004, Thabex advises its shareholders that
the aforementioned announcement noted that the JSE would reconsider the
Company`s sector classification as a result of the disposal of Platinexco (Pty)
Ltd. The JSE has subsequently notified Thabex that it requires that the sector
classification be changed from the `Resources: Mining: Diamond` to the
`Resources: Mining: Other Mineral Extractors & Mines` sector. This
classification change will be applied after the close of business on Friday, 21
May 2004 and will be effective from Monday, 24 May 2004.
