CORRECTION OF FACTS REGARDING EASTERN CAPE AMBULANCE FLEET
Shareholders of Super Group are advised that whilst the contracts concluded
between FleetAfrica Eastern Cape, a subsidiary of Super Group, and the Eastern
Cape Provincial Government on the 1st of August 2003 makes provision for
ambulances, the old EMS (ex-Metro) ambulances referred to in recent media
reports, were not included in these contracts.
On special request from the Department of Health, FleetAfrica Eastern Cape set
up an interim help desk service to assist in scheduling maintenance services for
the old EMS ambulances. In line with the guiding parameters of the contract, we
subsequently proposed a replacement program, which program is still under review
  by the Department of Health.
In terms of the contracts, new ambulances automatically fall under the service
levels implicit in the contract. However, service levels specified for
FleetAfrica Eastern Cape are limited to the provision of fleet management
services only. Control over ambulances and their daily utilisation still remains
the responsibility of the Department of Health in terms of their service
  delivery to the public.
The PSAM request has been correctly directed to the Department of Transport whom
we understand are dealing with the matter.
With regard to other comments made, we limit our response to the fact that
FleetAfrica is a market leader with extensive experience in the provision of
fleet management services and in particular currently provides comprehensive
fleet management services and solutions on Emergency Service vehicles.
