CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The company has pleasure in announcing the appointment of the following
directors to the Bridgestone Firestone Maxiprest Limited`s Board:
Mr H Takenaka has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mr H Takenaka joined
Bridgestone Corporation in 1965 and has wide experience in the tyre industry.
His previous position was Chief Executive Officer of Bridgestone Earthmover
Tyres in Australia.
Mr R S Berkowitz, formerly a practicing attorney in Durban and until recently an
executive of Investec Bank Limited, presently the chairman of a listed company,
director of a number of companies and a member of the Securities Regulation
Panel, has been appointed as an independent non executive director.
Mr Y Suzuki has been appointed an executive director to assist the newly
appointed Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for corporate strategy
and planning.
Mr W Northing has been appointed an executive director with responsibility for
the manufacturing operations of the group. Mr W Northing has headed the
manufacturing division for a number of years.
