TRADING UPDATE AND CAUTIONARY STATEMENT
Shareholders are advised that the company`s earnings and headline earnings per
share for the year ended 31 March 2004 will be substantially (`substantially`
equating to 30% or more as defined in the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Securities Exchange South Africa (`JSE`)) above those of the comparative period.
Shareholders are further advised that this increase is mainly attributable to
the Group`s tax treatment of loss making subsidiaries and that the operating
profit of the Group remained subjected to depressed financial market volumes.
It is anticipated that the audited results for the year ended 31 March 2004 will
be published on or about 29 June 2004.
As the company`s earnings and headline earnings per share for the year ended 31
March 2004 have not been reviewed and/or reported on by the company`s auditors,
shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company`s
securities on the JSE until the audited results for the year ended 31 March 2004
are published.
