TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are advised that earnings, after accounting for AC 137
(Agriculture), for the six months to 30 June 2004 will be substantially lower
than those of the prior comparative period. The reduction in earnings is
primarily due to the effect of the adjustment resulting from the application of
AC 137.
As this information has not been reviewed or reported on by Masonite`s auditors,
shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in their securities
until results are released during July / August 2004.
