TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Gold Reef shareholders are advised that earnings and headline earnings per share
for the six months ended 30 June 2004 will be materially higher than that of the
prior comparative period.
In this announcement the word `materially` refers to an increase of between 10%
and 30% as defined in the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa Listings
Requirements.
Further details of the above will be provided when Gold Reef`s results for the
six months ended 30 June 2004 are published in late August 2004.
As the results for the six months ended 30 June 2004 have not been reviewed and
reported on by Gold Reef`s auditors, shareholders are advised to exercise
caution when dealing in Gold Reef`s shares until the aforementioned interim
results are published.
