RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Shareholders are advised that, at the annual general meeting of Absa held today,
all the resolutions set out in the Notice of Annual General Meeting dated 25
June 2004, other than the resolution in respect of the issue of shares for cash,
were passed by the requisite majority of shareholders present or represented by
proxy. The special resolution in respect of the general authority to repurchase
shares will be submitted for registration at the Registrar of Companies in due
course.
