Appointment of New Non-Executive Directors
Massmart, South Africa`s third largest distributor of consumer goods, the leader
in general merchandise and liquor and the fourth largest in food, yesterday
announced the appointment of two independent non-executive directors. These
changes were effective 25 August 2004.
The new independent board appointments are, Ms Phumzile Langeni, an executive
director of Barnard Jacobs Mellett, and Mr Jim Hodkinson, previously a director
of Kingfisher PLC and managing director of its major subsidiary B&Q for 12
years.
