TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Seardel is currently finalising its results in respect of the year ended 30 June
2004. The annual report to shareholders will be released before the end of
September 2004.
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange South
Africa, shareholders are advised that it is anticipated that Seardel`s headline
earnings per share for the year ended 30 June 2004 will be between 10% and 20%
lower than the previous year.
This is partly due to the headline earnings per share for 2003 being restated
after taking into account the requirements of AC104. This reduces the weighted
number of shares in issue for 2003 from 120,3 million to 114,9 million. The
weighted number of shares in issue in 2004 is 128,2 million.
This trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on by Seardel`s
auditors and, as a result, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when
dealing in Seardel ordinary and N ordinary shares until the results are
published.
