NO CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT, QUALIFICATION OF ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND DATE OF
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Shareholders are advised that the annual financial statements for the year ended
29 February 2004 of Casey have been finalised with no changes from the results
that were published on 30 June 2003. However, shareholders are advised that the
financial statements contain a qualification on the income statement due to
incomplete information prior to the change in control and accordingly the
auditors, SAB&T Incorporated, have disclaimed an audit opinion. The
qualification and disclaimer of audit opinion have been reproduced below:
`Qualification
We did not verify any of the income statement transactions for the year as the
documents for the period under review could not be located, due to restructuring
of the company. In these circumstances, we were unable to carry out all the
auditing procedures, or to obtain all the information and explanations we
considered necessary, or to satisfy ourselves that proper accounting records
have been kept. The company`s records did not permit the application of
adequate auditing procedures relating to income statement transactions.
Disclaimer of audit opinion
Because of the significance of the matters discussed in the preceding paragraph,
we do not express an opinion on the financial statements.`
Shareholders are reminded that the company changed its year end to 31 August of
each year. Following the disclaimer of opinion, it the intention of the company
to issue audited results during September 2004 on which an unqualified audit
opinion is anticipated.
The date and time of the annual general meeting has been set for 11h30 on Monday
27 September 2004 to be held at Arcay House II, Number 3 Anerley Road, Parktown,
Johannesburg.
