Maldwyn Zimmerman, chairman of Combined Motor Holdings Ltd (CMH) announced in
Durban today that the Group had acquired Auto Umhlanga, the BMW /Mini retail
motor dealership, for the sum of R29.25 million.
Auto Umhlanga holds the franchise for BMW motor vehicles and motor bikes, Mini
motor vehicles and a BMW-Approved Repair Centre. CMH already owns a BMW/Mini
operation in Menlyn, Pretoria.
Whilst the new operation is not expected to make a significant addition to Group
earnings in the current financial year, to February 2005, it is anticipated that
it will be a meaningful contributor in the years ahead.
