Directors` attributable interests in Investec plc
As a consequence of Fintique III (BVI) Limited`s (`Fintique`) disposal of
1,500,000 Investec plc ordinary shares of GBP0.001 each, announced on the 30th
September 2004, the attributable interests in Investec plc of certain directors
of Investec plc have decreased, as detailed below.
Decreases in the directors` indirect beneficial interests in Investec plc`s
shares are laid out in the table below:

Following this notification, the directors` total beneficial and non-beneficial
holdings and the total percentage holdings of Investec plc ordinary shares of
GBP0.001 each are as laid out in the table below:

On the 30th September 2004, the Company received notification from Investec
Trust (Guernsey) Limited, the trustee (the `Trustee`) of Investec plc Jersey
Trust No. (the `Trust`), on behalf of the executive directors of the Company and
pursuant to section 324 of the Companies Act 1985, that by virtue of the
acquisition by the Trust of 1,500,000 Investec plc ordinary shares of GBP0.001
each, each of the executive directors of the Company are interested in 1,500,000
Ordinary Shares. This is because all the executive directors of the Company
(together with all of the employees of the Investec plc group) are potential
beneficiaries of the Trust and are therefore treated as interested in all the
unallocated shares held by the Trust.
Following this transaction, the Trustee holds a total of 1,500,000 ordinary
shares in Investec plc.
