HARMONY NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RESIGNS
Johannesburg, Monday, 18 October 2004 - Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited
(NYSE: HMY JSE: HAR) today announced the resignation of one of its non-executive
directors, Lord Robin Renwick, from the company`s Board of Directors.
Lord Renwick is the Vice Chairman, Investment Banking at JPMorgan plc. He
resigned as a Director of Harmony last night, following JPMorgan plc`s decision
to support Gold Fields against the bid made by Harmony to acquire Gold Fields`
entire shareholding.
Lord Renwick served on Harmony`s Board as a Non-Executive Director since 1999.
