Shareholders of SA Chrome are referred to the announcement dated 5October 2004
regarding a proposed change of name of SA Chrome to Merafe Resources Limited.
The salient dates for the implementation of the change of name are as follows:

Circular and notice of general meeting
posted to SA Chrome shareholders Monday, 25October
Last date for receipt of forms of proxy
for the general meeting by not later than 11:00 Friday, 12November
General meeting to be held at 11:00 Tuesday, 16 November
Results of general meeting released on the
Securities Exchange News Service Tuesday, 16 November
Results of general meeting published in the
South African press Wednesday, 17 November
Last day to trade under the old name `South African
Chrome and Alloys Limited` Friday, 26 November
Change of name effective from close of business on Friday, 26 November
Trade under the new name `Merafe Resources Limited` and
share code `MRF` (ISIN: ZAE000060000) from commencement
of trade on Monday, 29 November
Record date for the change of name Friday, 3 December
New share certificates reflecting the change of name
posted by registered post to SA Chrome certificated
shareholders who have surrendered their documents of
title on or before the close of business on the
record date(see note 3) Monday, 6 December
Dematerialised shareholders` safe custody accounts
updated with the new name by their CSDP or broker Monday, 6 December
Notes:
1. These dates and times are subject to amendment. Any amendments to the dates
and times will be announced on the Securities Exchange News Service and
published in the South African press.
2. Share certificates in the name of South African Chrome and Alloys Limited
may not be dematerialised or rematerialised after Friday, 26 November 2004.
3. SA Chrome shareholders who surrender their existing documents of title
after the record date, will have their new share certificates mailed within
five business days of receipt thereof by the transfer secretaries, by
registered post, at the risk of the shareholder concerned.
