RESULTS OF GENERAL MEETING AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Deutsche Securities (SA) (Proprietary) Limited is authorised to announce the
results of the general meeting of SA Chrome shareholders, held today, Tuesday,
16 November 2004, convened in terms of the notice of meeting contained in the
circular to SA Chrome shareholders issued on 25October 2004 (`the general
meeting`).
Shareholders of SA Chrome are advised that a special resolution to effect the
change of name of SA Chrome to Merafe Resources Limited, was passed by the
requisite majority of SA Chrome shareholders at the general meeting. The special
resolution will be lodged with the Companies and Intellectual Property
Registration Office for registration. Shareholders are advised that with regards
to the trading systems of the JSE Securities Exchange, South Africa, the
following salient dates with regard to the change of name apply:
2004
Last day to trade under the old name
`South African Chrome and Alloys Limited` Friday, 26 November
Change of name effective from the close of
business on Friday, 26 November
Trade under the new name `Merafe Resources Limited`
from the commencement of trade on Monday, 29 November
Shares in the new name listed on the
JSE Securities Exchange, South Africa under
the share code:`MRF` and ISIN ZAE000060000 Monday, 29 November
Record date for the change of name Friday, 3 December
New share certificates reflecting the change
of name posted by registered post to SA Chrome
certificated shareholders who have surrendered their
documents of title on or before the close of
business on the record date (see note 2)
Dematerialised shareholders` safe custody
accounts updated with the new name by their
Central Securities Depository Participant or
Broker Monday, 6 December
Notes:
1. Share certificates in the name of South African Chrome and Alloys Limited
may not be dematerialised or rematerialised after Friday, 26November 2004
2. SA Chrome shareholders who surrender their existing documents of title
after the record date, will have their new share certificates mailed within
five business days of receipt thereof by the transfer secretaries, by
registered post, at the risk of the shareholder concerned.
3. Forms of surrender were posted to certificated shareholders with the
circular to shareholders dated Monday, 25 October 2004. Certificated
shareholders are reminded to surrender their SA Chrome share certificates.
Structure
The ferrochrome interests of the Company will continue to reside in SA
Ferrochrome & Mining (Pty) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company,
and the pooling and sharing venture with Xstrata will continue to trade as the
Xstrata - SA Chrome Venture.
Shareholders are referred to the paid announcement to be published on 17
November 2004 for a diagramatic explanation of the Company structure.

The Company`s website will be changing to www.meraferesources.co.za in due
course
Cautionary announcement
Shareholders are advised that SA Chrome has entered into negotiations which, if
successfully concluded, may have a material effect on the price of the Company`s
securities. Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when
dealing in the Company`s securities until a further announcement is made.
