TRADING STATEMENT
A review of the financial results for the twelve months ended 30 September 2004
by management has indicated that there will be a loss for the period, as opposed
to the profit of approximately R13,2 million for the previous financial year.
The loss arises primarily from a provision made for taxation as a result of an
assessment by the South African Revenue Services (`SARS`) of approximately
R4 000 000. The company has decided to provide for the assessed amount due and
has engaged in discussions with SARS to dispute the assessment.
The financial results for the year ended 30 September 2004 have not been audited
or reviewed by Mathomo`s auditors.
The Board of Directors would like to reiterate that Mathomo`s year-end has
changed to 28 February 2005. The audit will be completed and the statutory
financial statements will be posted by 30 June 2005.
