CLARIFICATION ON THE INTERIM DIVIDEND AND SPECIAL DISTRIBUTION PAYMENT DATES
Shareholders are referred to the interim results announcement published on SENS
on 24 November 2004 and in the press on 25 November 2004, wherein an interim
dividend of 18,3 cents per share was declared payable on 28 December 2004.
Shareholders are further referred to the announcement of the disposal of 26,77%
in AFGRI Operations Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of this company, to a
black empowerment consortium, Agri Sizwe Empowerment Trust, which was also
published on SENS on 24 November 2004 and in the press on 25 November 2004, and
wherein it was proposed that a special distribution of 110,5 cents per share
shall be payable, subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting.
It is expected that the shareholders meeting will take place in early January
2005 and that the payment of the special distribution shall, if approved by the
shareholders, be payable in late January or early February 2005. A circular with
full and further details with regard to this transaction will be posted to
shareholders in due course and the final salient dates will be released at that
time.
