TRADING STATEMENT
Shareholders are hereby notified that Basil Read`s results for the year ending
31 December 2004 could be 190% to 210% lower than the audited results for the
year ended 31 December 2003.
Shareholders are referred to the company`s unaudited results for the six months
ended 30 June 2004 published on SENS and in the press on 29 September 2004.
Since 30 June 2004, the company`s trading position has not further deteriorated.
The results for the year ended 31 December 2004 have not been reported on by
Basil Read`s auditors and shareholders must accordingly exercise caution when
dealing in their shares until publication of the results.
