The Group`s results for the year ended 31 December 2004 will be released on 21
February 2005.
Tongaat-Hulett communicated in February 2004 and confirmed in August 2004 that
it expects to report a substantial headline earnings recovery in 2004, with
programmes, spanning the next two years, in place to grow earnings through
internal actions.
Headline earnings for the year ended 31 December 2004 are expected to be between
R205 million and R218 million, a substantial recovery from the loss of R93
million in 2003. This equates to an expected headline earnings per share of
between 201,5 and 214,3 cents per share (2003: headline loss of 91,7 cents per
share). Earnings per share of between 211,4 and 224,1 cents per share are
expected.
This trading statement is issued in compliance with the JSE Securities Exchange
South Africa Listings Requirements. The above information has not been reviewed
or reported on by the Group`s auditors.
