* SUSPENSION OF THE COMPANY`S SHARES ON THE JSE
Shareholders are referred to the announcements dated 28 July 2004, 19 August
2004 and 24 November 2004, detailing, inter alia, Aquila`s intention to proceed
with the orderly winding-up of the company`s affairs in anticipation of the
voluntary liquidation of the company (`the liquidation`).
Shareholders are hereby notified that:
* the company was placed in members` voluntary liquidation in terms of sections
349
and 350 of the Companies Act, 1973 (Act 61 of 1973), as amended (`the Act`);
* the liquidation resolution, approved by the Aquila shareholders at the general
meeting held on 19 August 2004, was registered on 18 January 2005 by the
Registrar of Companies in terms of section 200 of the Act; and
* Janette Simpson has been appointed by the Master of the High Court of South
Africa as the liquidator nominated in terms of the abovementioned resolution.
Following the above, the company`s listing will be suspended on the JSE
Securities Exchange South Africa from the commencement of trade on Friday, 21
January 2005 until such time as the liquidation is complete. Shareholders will
be timeously informed of any final liquidation distribution immediately prior to
the completion of the liquidation.
