APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
In accordance with Section 3.59 of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa
Listings Requirements, combined unitholders are advised that Mr James Roy
McAlpine has been appointed to the board of Hyprop as independent non-executive
director with effect from 1 February 2005.
Mr McAlpine graduated from the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 1962 with a
BSc in Mathematics and Physics. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in
1964, he emigrated to South Africa in 1965 and joined the Liberty Life Group in
1969. He retired in 1998, having fulfilled the roles of Chairman of, inter
alia, Liberty Asset Management Limited and the Association of Unit Trust of
South Africa.
Mr McAlpine is also a non executive director of Imperial Holdings Limited and
African Rainbow Minerals Limited.
