TRADING STATEMENT
Shareholders are advised that it is expected that both headline earnings and
earnings per share for the six months ended 31 December 2004 will be 15% to 25%
higher than those of the previous comparative period.
Shareholders are advised that the above financial measures of earnings and
headline earnings per share are based on `net profit attributable to ordinary
shareholders` being after tax earnings. Further to this, it is expected that
`Profit before taxation` for the six months ended 31 December 2004, will be 40%
to 50% higher than that of the prior comparative period.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the group`s auditors. The publication of the results
is expected in early March 2005.
