Seardel is currently finalising its results in respect of the half-year ended 31
December 2004. The interim report to shareholders will be released before the
end of February 2005.
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange South
Africa, shareholders are advised that it is anticipated that Seardel`s headline
earnings per share for the half-year ended 31 December 2004 will be between 40%
and 50% higher than for the corresponding period last year.
These results reflect a reduction in finance costs due to an improvement in
asset management and trading efficiencies.
It is anticipated that the next six months trading period is likely to be
difficult, particularly in the textile division. Accordingly, it is doubtful
that the levels achieved in headline earnings per share will be sustained.
This trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on by Seardel`s
auditors.
