CONSOL APPOINTS SIZWE MNCWANGO AS DIRECTOR
Packaging company Consol has appointed Sizwe Mncwango (38) to the Board. He will
assume his responsibilities as an independent non-executive director on 1 March
2005. Consol is to list on the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa on 28
February 2005.
Mr Mncwango is currently the Head of Old Mutual`s Group Schemes business, a
position he assumed after his role as managing director of Old Mutual
Healthcare, where he was also a director of Old Mutual Healthcare Insurance as
well as chairman of Managed Choice. Prior to joining Old Mutual Mr Mncwango was
Head of Strategy at BP. During that period he was also a director of BP Namibia
from 2002-2003 and a member of the Government and Public Affairs Advisory Board
from 2000-2001. He holds a BSc and an MSc in Civil Engineering from Northwestern
University, USA and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
The newly constituted board, effective 1 March 2005, will comprise of
independent non-executive directors Royden Vice (chairman), Angus Band, Sean
Jagoe, Sizwe Mncwango and Howard Turner. Executive directors are Mike Arnold
(group managing director) and Karuna Nayager (group financial director).
