FNB is new Moneyweb radio headline sponsor
First National Bank has secured the headline sponsorship rights to Moneyweb`s
market leading business programmes on national FM channels Radio 2000 and RSG.
FNB`s brand director Derek Carstens says: `Moneyweb is the market leader in
business radio, having introduced the first extended programmes to South Africa
eight years ago. Moneyweb`s programming is of the highest quality, empowering
and fiercely independent - qualities with which we at FNB associate strongly.`
The FNB sponsorship is anchored by the Moneyweb Power Hour which debuts on Radio
2000 tonight at 6pm. It will become the first hour-long English business show to
be broadcast nationwide. Depending on where in the country it is accessed, Radio
2000 is between 97 and 100 on the FM band, nestling on the dial between Radio
Five and RSG.
Presented by veteran broadcaster and columnist Alec Hogg, the Moneyweb Power
Hour it has been adjudged South Africa`s best business programme for five years
running in both the Sanlam and the Citadel financial journalism competitions. It
airs between 6pm and 7pm every weeknight.
FNB has simultaneously secured the headline sponsorship of RSG se Geldsake met
Moneyweb, the pioneering Afrikaans business programme. It is presented by Ewald
Muller and Erika van der Merwe and reaches a national audience of over 550 000
during its broadcast from 5pm to 6pm weekdays.
All the Moneyweb programmes are produced live from its studio complex in
Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Hogg, founder and CEO of JSE-listed Moneyweb Holdings says: `The FNB headline
sponsorship is further confirmation that our relationship with the national
broadcaster will benefit all involved.
`We now serve the entire country for the first time and will keep working hard
to inform and enlighten our loyal base of existing listeners and hopefully,
hundreds of thousands of new ones. Hopefully those who haven`t already done so
will pre-select their sets to the Radio 2000 channel tonight at six,` Hogg adds.
