PURCHASE OF SHARES BY DIRECTORS IN TERMS OF THE DEFERRED BONUS PLAN
Executive directors purchased shares in the Group in terms of the deferred bonus
plan. The shares have been purchased in the market utilising a specified portion
of their annual bonus. These shares are held in trust and are pledged until the
three year vesting date whereafter the company would make an equal matching
award. The shares purchased, at an average cost of R57.76, are as follows:

B G Dunlop 4 210 shares
A Fourie 3 314 shares
G R Hibbert 3 310 shares
G P N Kruger 3 852 shares
M H Munro 3 204 shares
S J Saunders 3 982 shares
M Serfontein 3 141 shares
The purchases have been made in accordance with, and the matching awards are
subject to, the rules of the deferred bonus plan, as approved by shareholders at
the annual general meeting held on 26 April 2005.
Approval for the individual allocations and clearance to transact has been
given.
