RESULTS OF THE CAPITALISATION AWARD AND ELECTION TO RECEIVE A CASH DIVIDEND IN
LIEU THEREOF
The offer to receive the capitalisation share award or the cash dividend in lieu
thereof made to shareholders recorded in the register on Friday, 20 May 2005
closed at 12:00 on that date. Elections to receive the cash dividend of 5 cents
per share were made in respect of 143 197 462 ordinary shares, totalling an
aggregate cash dividend of R7 159 873,10. Accordingly, approximately 4 546 067
new ordinary shares in the company (being 65,8% of the maximum number of
capitalisation shares that were the subject of the capitalisation share award)
will be issued. An adjustment to the maximum number of capitalisation shares
listed will be made on or about Wednesday, 25 May 2005.
Share certificates in respect of the capitalisation shares and cheques in
respect of the dividend entitlements have been dispatched to certificated
shareholders on Monday, 23 May 2005. The CSDP/broker accounts of shareholders
holding dematerialised shares have been updated or credited, according to the
election made, on Monday, 23 May 2005.
