Business Update
Sun International Limited is pleased to announce that the group has continued to
benefit from favourable trading conditions at its gaming operations. Group
revenue for the ten months to 30 April 2005 was 15% up on the same period in the
previous year with gaming revenues 19% higher and hotel and resort revenues in
line with the previous year.
As a consequence of the continued strong trading, improvements in margins and
lower borrowing costs, adjusted headline earnings per share for the year ending
30 June 2005 are anticipated to be between 35% and 45% higher than last year.
The group`s new casino complex, Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom which is
located north of Durban continues to trade strongly. The refurbishment and
upgrading of the casinos at both Morula and Carousel has been successfully
completed and both operations are trading in line with expectations.
This financial information has not been reviewed or reported on by the group`s
auditors. The group`s reviewed results for the year ending 30 June 2005 are
expected to be published on or about 31 August 2005.
