NEW CLICKS HOLDINGS - RESIGNATION OF UPD CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Kevin Vyvyan-Day, the chief executive of New United Pharmaceutical Distributors
(UPD), the wholesale distribution arm of New Clicks, has resigned from the group
to take up a position in the wholesale warehousing sector.
He will be succeeded by Lynda van Niekerk, the current financial director of
UPD. Lynda has been with UPD for seven years, having joined as a projects
accountant in January 1999 and being promoted to financial director in August
1999. She has also been appointed to the Group Operations Forum, the executive
committee of New Clicks.
Trevor Honneysett, chief executive of New Clicks, said the group is fortunate to
be able to appoint someone of Lynda`s calibre from within UPD to replace Kevin.
`Lynda`s experience at UPD and her industry expertise will ensure continuity in
the business and we are confident that UPD will continue on its strong growth
path.`
Honneysett said Vyvyan-Day had been instrumental in integrating UPD into the
group following its acquisition in 2002.
`Kevin has led the business through a period of constant change in the
legislative environment, which has been particularly challenging for wholesalers
in the past year. UPD has performed strongly in this turbulent healthcare
climate and continues to be an efficiently managed business. Kevin`s departure
is a loss to the group, but he has developed a strong leadership team which will
now assume responsibility for UPD,` said Honneysett.
