ACQUISITION OF DIY & HOME IMPROVEMENT ASSETS
With reference to the announcements of 24 February 2005 and 9 March 2005, we are
pleased to announce that the Competition Tribunal of South Africa today
unconditionally approved Massmart`s acquisition of the companies trading as, De
La Rey, Federated Timbers and Servistar.
All suspensive conditions related to these acquisitions have therefore been met,
and work will commence immediately on the integration of these businesses into
Massmart and the implementation of those strategies directed at entrenching the
Group`s leadership position in the South African DIY and home improvement
market.
