REVISED SALIENT DATES IN RESPECT OF CHANGE OF NAME
Shareholders are referred to the SENS release dated 26 May 2005, the circular to
shareholders dated 26 May 2005 and the press announcement dated 27 May 2005,
which contain, inter alia, the salient dates in respect of the change of the
Company`s name to Afgem Limited. Due to delays in the office of the Registrar of
Companies, the special resolutions approved by shareholders at the general
meeting on 17 June 2005 have not yet been registered. Accordingly, shareholders
are advised of the revised salient dates and times:

Last date to trade under the old name `African Gem Friday, 15 July
Resources Limited`
Change of name effective from close of business on Friday, 15 July
Trade under the new name `Afgem Limited` from
commencement of trading on Monday, 18 July
Record date Friday, 22 July
New share certificates reflecting the change of
name posted by registered post to Afgem
certificated shareholders who have surrendered
their documents of title on or before the close of Monday, 25 July
business on the record date (see note 3 below)
Dematerialised shareholders` safe custody accounts
updated with the new name by their CSDP or broker Monday, 25 July
NOTES :
The above dates and South African times are subject to change. Any changes will
be released on SENS and published in the South African press.
Shareholders will not be able to dematerialise or rematerialise their securities
in the old name of African Gem Resources Limited after Friday, 15 July 2005.
Afgem shareholders who surrender their existing documents of title after the
record date, will have their new share certificates mailed within 5 business
days of receipt thereof by the transfer secretaries, by registered post in South
Africa, at the risk of the shareholder concerned.
