Result of rights offer
The announcement below sets out the results of the renounceable rights offer of
516 241 685 new ordinary shares of 2 cents each (`rights shares`) by Simmers to
its shareholders at a subscription price of 25 cents per rights share to raise
R129 million (`the rights offer`), which closed on Friday, 8 July 2005.
Simmers shareholders and/or their renouncees subscribed for 36 878 476 rights
shares, equivalent to 91,5% of the total number of rights shares offered. The
balance of 3 413 590 rights shares will be taken up by Jaganda (Proprietary)
Limited in its capacity as underwriter to the rights offer.
The rights shares were listed in the `Mining - Gold Mining` sector of the JSE
Securities Exchange South Africa lists with effect from the commencement of
business on Monday, 4 July 2005.
Certificated shareholders had their share certificates in respect of the rights
shares subscribed for posted to them on Monday, 11 July 2005 and dematerialised
shareholders had their safe custody accounts with their Central Securities
Depository Participant or broker updated on Monday, 11 July 2005 with the rights
shares subscribed for.
