PUBLICATION OF RESULTS FOR THE YEAR END 31 MARCH 2005
Shareholders are referred to the JSE Limited (`JSE`) announcement dated 19 July
2005 advising that Simmers have not yet published their preliminary results for
the year ended 31 March 2005 (`the results announcement`) and that the company`s
listing was in threat of suspension if the results announcement was not
published on SENS by 29 July 2005.
The board of directors hereby advises that the delay has been a result of
seeking clarity regarding the treatment of the disposal by Simmers of Makonjwaan
Imperial Mining Company Limited in the financial year concerned (as detailed in
the interim results announcement published on SENS on 24 November 2004). This
process has now been completed. The details of the transaction will be advised
in the results announcement which is expected to be published early next week.
Accordingly, once the results announcement has been published, the company`s
listing on the JSE will no longer be under threat of suspension for late
publication.
