TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, a listed company is
required to publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes aware that the
financial results for the next financial period to be reported on will vary by
20% or more from those of the previous comparable period.
DigiCore hereby advises that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that
earnings and headline earnings per share for the year ended 30 June 2005 will
exceed the comparable earnings and headline earnings per share for the year
ended 30 June 2004 by between 65% and 85% and between 56% and 76% respectively.
The financial information in this trading statement has not been reviewed or
reported on by DigiCore`s auditors. The results for the year ended 30 June 2005
are expected to be published on or about 5 September 2005.
The period experienced record product demand which has been driven by two key
factors. Firstly, new vehicle sales across all sectors have continued to grow
significantly in many global markets and secondly high global fuel prices have
encouraged a growing number of companies to implement DigiCore`s C-track systems
to optimise vehicle utilisation and fleet productivity to reduce operational
costs.
These key drivers have resulted in South Africa`s unit sales increasing by 60%
and overseas sales by 45% over the comparative period. This, combined with
continued disciplined cost and systems controls, have resulted in another year
of exciting results.
The new hardware and software products introduced during the period, based on an
industry leading GPRS implementation, have reduced DigiCore`s solutions
operating costs significantly, thereby growing new sales and motivating existing
users to upgrade to the new products.
The acquisition of DigiCore Europe has exceeded our expectations and with the
benefits reaped from the consolidation of the existing businesses delivered
additional profit. A number of Pan-European blue chip fleet implementations have
been concluded during the period following our more direct involvement with all
eight European country distributors.
Sales into Pakistan have continued to grow strongly with the launch of the new C
track Secure product in combination with excellent new vehicle sales growth.
