SBSA announces the resignation of Mr M J D Ruck (chief executive, Liberty Life)
and the appointment of Mr S P Ridley (chief financial officer) to the board of
The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited. Mr Ruck remains an executive
director of Standard Bank Group Limited and a member of the Standard Bank Group
Executive Committee. These changes will be effective from 5 August 2005.
