TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the JSE Limited (`JSE`) Listings Requirements, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are reasonably certain
that the financial results for the current reporting period will be more than 20
per cent different from those of the prior comparative period.
Barplats expects to announce earnings of between approximately 10 cents and 12
cents per share and a headline loss of between approximately 13 cents and 15
cents per share for the year ended 30 June 2005, compared with a loss and
headline loss of 19 cents per share in the prior comparative period.
Shareholders are advised that the above information has not been reviewed or
reported on by Barplats` auditors. The unaudited preliminary results for the
year ended 30 June 2005 are expected to be published on SENS on or about
Thursday, 25 August 2005.
