SALIENT DATES FOR THE GENERAL MEETING TO APPROVE THE BEE TRANSACTIONS AND
THE SHARE CONSOLIDATION
1. Introduction
Shareholders are referred to the announcements dated 10 June 2005 and 22 June
2005, regarding the introduction of Black Economic Empowerment shareholders into
Purple Capital (`the BEE transactions`) and the proposed share consolidation on
a 1 for 10 basis (`the share consolidation`).
Salient dates and times pertaining to the share consolidation and the general
meeting of shareholders convened for the purposes of considering and approving
the ordinary and special resolutions necessary to give effect to the BEE
transactions and the share consolidation are set out below.

Circular distributed to shareholders on Wednesday, 24 August
Forms of proxy for the general meeting to be
received by 10:00 on Tuesday, 13 September
General meeting of Purple Capital shareholders
at 10:00 on Thursday, 15 September
Results of the general meeting released on SENS on Thursday, 15 September
Results of the general meeting published
in the press on Friday, 16 September
Last day to trade for the share consolidation on Friday, 30 September
New capital structure listed. Entitled to trade in
the new shares under the new ISIN of ZAE000071411 on Monday, 3 October
Record date for the share consolidation on Friday, 7 October
Operative date of the share consolidation on Monday, 10 October
New shares issued on Monday, 10 October
Holders of dematerialised shares will have their
accounts at their CSDP or broker updated on Monday, 10 October
New share certificates will be posted to holders of
certificated shares, provided their old share certificates
have been surrendered on or before Friday,
7 October 2005 (or within 5 business days of
receipt thereafter) on Monday, 10 October
Notes:
1. The above dates and times are subject to amendment. Any amendment to the
dates and times will be released on SENS and published in the press.
2. Share certificates in pre-consolidated form may not be dematerialised or
rematerialised after Friday, 30 September 2005.
3. Circular to shareholders
A circular containing full details of the BEE transactions and the share
consolidation, and including a notice of general meeting of shareholders and a
form of surrender, will be posted today.
