NEW CLICKS HOLDINGS - APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Keith Warburton has been appointed chief financial officer of New Clicks with
effect from 1 September 2005.
Warburton (47) has extensive experience in senior financial management in the
retail sector.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1985, he gained experience in
corporate finance and financial management before being appointed financial
director of Metro Cash and Carry in 1990.
Following the acquisition of Metro Cash and Carry by the Premier Group in 1991,
Warburton was appointed financial director and deputy managing director of Score
Supermarkets. He led the management buyout of Score in November 1992 and served
the retailing chain until 1997 when it was acquired by Pick `n Pay.
Warburton was appointed financial director of Truworths in 1997 and two years
later joined Homechoice Holdings as chief operating officer. He left the company
in 2001 to establish a business consultancy.
Trevor Honneysett, group leader of New Clicks, said the appointment of Warburton
would bolster the group`s financial management resources at a time when the
business was addressing several strategic challenges.
`Keith has a proven track-record in financial management and has operated at a
senior level in listed retail groups. The increasingly demanding reporting
requirements for listed companies has necessitated the appointment of a
heavyweight financial specialist with strong leadership skills. Keith`s broad
ranging financial, business and retailing background will complement our
existing skills and we are sure he will become a key member of our executive
management team,` said Honneysett.
