TRADING UPDATE
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the Namibian Stock Exchange (`NSX
Listings Requirements`), companies are required to publish a trading statement
as soon as they become aware that the financial results for the period to be
reported on next will be materially different from that of the previous
corresponding period.
NAMSEA hereby advises that the earnings and headline earnings per share for the
6 months period ended 30 June 2005 is expected to be 80% to 90% below the
earnings and headline earnings per share for the previous corresponding period.
The main reasons contributing to the decline are:
Reduced commercial fish catches
Lower throughput in the fishmeal plant
Poor performance in Angolan fishing operation
The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the company`s
auditors. These results are expected to be published towards the end of
September 2005.
