TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited relating to trading
statements, a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as soon
as it becomes aware that the financial results for the next period to be
reported on will show a difference of 20% or more from those of the previous
corresponding period.
Ventel is expecting a decrease of between 80% and 100% in earnings per share and
headline earnings per share for the interim period ended 30 June 2005 (`the
interim results`) compared to that of the previous comparative period.
The information in this trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on
by Ventel`s auditors. The release of the interim results announcement is
expected to be published on or about 30 September 2005.
