NOTICE OF CHANGE OF FINANCIAL YEAR-END
Notice is hereby given that, following the acquisition of a majority interest in
Absa by Barclays Bank PLC, Absa"s financial year-end has been changed from 31
March to 31 December of each year (the latter being the financial year-end of
Absa"s holding company).
Absa will accordingly produce interim results for the 6 months ended 30
September 2005 and financial results for the 9 months ended 31 December 2005.
