FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Further to the cautionary announcement released on SENS on 2 September 2005 and
published in the press on 3 September 2005, the Directors of ZCI wish to inform
shareholders that ZCI and Vedanta Resources plc ("Vedanta") have now agreed in
principle on the appointment of the independent merchant bank that will be
mandated to prepare the valuation of Konkola Copper Mines plc ("KCM") in terms
of the Vedanta Call Option Deed. The Directors of ZCI, together with Vedanta are
in the process of agreeing the bank"s letter of engagement in order for the
valuation process to commence as soon as possible. The identity of the bank will
be made available on finalisation of the letter of engagement.
ZCI shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing in
ZCI"s securities until a detailed announcement is made.
