CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Highveld hereby notifies shareholders that it has been advised by its majority
shareholder, Anglo American plc ("Anglo American"), that, as a result of a
strategic review, Anglo American has decided to embark on a process which, if
concluded, may result in a sale by Anglo American of its stake in Highveld.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in
Highveld"s shares until a further announcement is made.
