Further to the cautionary announcements dated 13 May 2005, 23 June 2005, 4
August 2005 and the announcement of the firm intention by Lonmin plc ("Lonmin")
to make an offer to acquire all the Messina shares not held by Lonmin at an
offer price of ZAR 33 per Messina share and further cautionary announcement
dated 16 September 2005, shareholders of Messina are advised to continue to
exercise caution when dealing in their shares until a further announcement is
made.
